• National FFA Organization
Since the day it began in 1928, the FFA has been preparing future generations for the challenges of feeding a growing population. Over eighty-five years later, we are still preparing young adults for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education. FFA develops members' potential and uses hands-on experiences to help them discover their talents, which allow members to achieve real-world success. The organization is not simply for students who want to be farmers; our members pursue careers as teachers, doctors, scientists, business owners and more. Even though production agriculture represents less than 2 percent of the entire population of the US, the world of agriculture encompasses much more than farmers. In Minnesota alone, agribusiness and agri-science careers encompass about 25 percent of the workforce, which increases to 50 percent in non-metro areas.
So how do you join the Alexandria FFA chapter? The FFA is an integral part of agricultural education and you must be enrolled in an ag course here at AAHS. Some of the ag classes offered here at AAHS include Animal Health, Minnesota Habitat and Wildlife, Get Your Green Thumb and Intro to Agriscience. Sign up for FFA and complete the registration here - Alexandria FFA Membership Form. Welcome aboard! Membership dues are $20 a year and go towards funding State Convention registration, a subscription to FFA New Horizons, transportation fees and many other chapter activities. Talk to one of the advisers if you need assistance paying dues.
