5th grade Math Masters Competition Results
Posted by David Harstad on 5/13/2021 9:00:00 AMMay 13, 2021 -- Eight Alexandria Public School Math Master teams competed in the virtual regional competition in April. A total of 27 teams from west central Minnesota participated in the event. The competition included a fact drill round, three individual rounds and three team rounds.In the team competition,
Lincoln - Miss Liebl’s class (Braden Adelman, Adeline Auran, Hudson Corle, David Hinrichs, & Ty Miller) placed 3rd and received a team plaque and individual medallions. (see team photo below)
Voyager - Miss Hanson’s class (Abby Olson, Carter Praska, Gabby Rye, Ella Vanderheiden, & Connor Zirbes) placed 5th and received ribbons.
Woodland - Mrs. Vis’ class (Avianne Barsness, Mitchel Bartosiewski, Aaron Lenarz, Kayla Malo, & Olivia Neumann) placed 6th and received ribbons.
Miltona (Gavin Gilbertson, Brynn Johnson, Lucas Korman, Keaton Kryder, & Zander Sorenson) placed 7th.
Lincoln - Miss Gonsior’s class (Jeremy Boe, Zack Frisell, Bodin Karlstad, Brennan Lepisto, & Dat Nyugen) placed 9th
Lincoln - Mr Weiss’ class (Maya Dutton, Brody Hennessy, Colton Nolden, Ayden Steffensmeier, & Maggie Sundby) placed 10th
In the Individual problem solving competition with 140 students competing, these students placed in the top 20.

6th grade Math Masters Results
Posted by Jill Fuglestad on 4/13/2021 2:40:00 PMApril 13, 2021 -- Two Alexandria Public Schools 6th grade student teams competed in the regional Math Masters virtual competition in March. A total of 19 teams from across Minnesota participated in the event.
The competition included a fact drill round, three individual rounds and three team rounds. Both Alexandria Public Schools’ teams finished in the top 3 with several students taking individual honors.
In the Team competition, Discovery Middle School Team 1 (Tommy Dutcher, Alex Rodriguez, Ziggy Henrich, Elizabeth Wagner, and Grant Juelke) placed 2nd place overall. Discovery Middle School Team 2 (Jameson McAdoo, Hunter Krebs, Ezequiel Rodriguez, and Josh Makalinao) placed 3rd overall.
In the Fact Drill competition with 92 students competing, these students placed in the top 10:
Josh Makalinao - 1st place (tie)
Alex Rodriguez - 3rd place
Tommy Dutcher - 6th place
Grant Juelke - 9th place (tie)
In the Individual problem solving competition with 92 students competing, these students placed in the top 10:
